Ripple Expands Network of Banking by Partnering with Finastra

Global Exchange: Ripple partnered with Finastra a week on Wednesday. Finastra users can now use the XRP cryptocurrency to connect to the 200 RippleNet affiliates, a global payment network. Ripple expands the network of banking by partnering with Finastra.

The company said in a statement that RippleNet clients will now have exposure to Finastra’s banking partnerships that settle millions of transactions per year.

Marcus Treacher from Ripple said Finastra is a well-established fintech venture, that works with most of the top banks in the world.

He added that this collaboration will help Ripple to extend their partners’ scope and services, as well as RippleNet’s footprint, while allowing customers to directly transact with each other.

“Fast and reliable cross-border payments are particularly beneficial for our customers in geographies where the cost of correspondent banking is high.”

The collaboration follows recent weeks of announcements of a variety of Ripple initiatives.

A developer kit and other tools were launched by Ripple Xpring to enable coders to create payment rails into any app. Xpring also confirmed that it will acquire an Icelandic business and a company that will bring Ripple into the DeFi (decentralized finance) space.
